Providence club shot up.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- After three patrons were evicted from a local strip club, somebody shot bullets through the club’s walls, narrowly missing the dancing stage, early Friday.

The staff at Wonderland strip club, at the adult-entertainment complex at 257 Allens Ave., told police that three men got into an argument over a $60 bill. Security staff intervened, and when the argument escalated into a fight, they tossed the men out.

One of the patrons was overheard warning that he was “gonna come back and shoot this place up.” And, around 1:35 a.m., they heard gunfire outside.

Multiple bullets were shot into the building, penetrating the walls. Police said they seized six .40 caliber shell casings and a projectile by the stairs -- as well as a projectile that landed near the main stage.

No one was injured.

Huh. I've never actually been there. It has a spotty reputation, even though it's marketed as a "high end" club.

Yet another example of why you should not club after midnight! This place in in the same building with a nude modeling place in back, a gay club in back with both entrances along the side so the side street next to this place is very busy. It is one small block from the old Cheaters now Wild Zerbra in an industrial area. It pretends to be an upscale club with tuxedo'd bouncers and valet parking. It is primarily a South American club with South American dancers that are expensive and plastic. The one time I went here the music was way to loud so much so you could not hear nor understand when a dancer spoke to you and you had to yell to be under stood. Lots of Hispanic customers. The place fronts on to Allens Ave with the other places along the side street. While I was there I got one dance and it was nothing to brag about and was very expensive. Lots of big hard plastic tits and plastic butts. It was actually worse than the Russian clubs in the NYC area for rip off factor and gimme money for just sitting down attitude. I'd be willing to bet money that the guy that shot the place up got ripped off by a dancer with the help of the bouncer and went out to his car got his gun and went back. The place looked like it was expecting trouble by the number of bouncers.

Wonderland is similar to a bottom of the barrel south florida club. They have shootings related to the club, but its a small price to pay for making everyone wear a collared shirt after 7:00 pm. I have been 4 times since they opened, despite it being down the street from Club Desires, where I have been about 1,200 times. The biggest difference? At 9:00 if you are wearing a hat at Desires you take it off or out you go....to Wonderland.
