I was opposed to Trump, Carson, and Fiorini in the 2016 Republican primaries because none of them had the experience nor track record to show me that they would be successful presidents. I really rely on a candidate's record as state governor as indicator of their probable success of POTUS, once Brown and Jindal dropped out I was lukewarm on the remaining candidates. I believed that position was vindicated by Sen. Obama's dismal failure as president, and strong indicator that crooked Hillary would also be an abysmal failure. I was wrong about Trump. I admit that.

Oprah or Tom Hanks? It is laughable to even consider. I would go support a Carson/Fiorini bid before either of those two idiots.

Dwayne "the Rock" Johnson is like pancakes, everybody loves him, but I would never support Candidate Dwayne Johnson even on a GOP ticket. You want to talk decision-making skills? He has not starred in a decent movie since 2003's The Rundown.

I’m guessing she will get pumped up by supporters - and those who think she will support their interests. This will last a bit - and she will get more and more inflated.

Then - some reporter will find something - in her Harpo business - or from her private life - and things will begin to unravel quickly.

It won’t be pretty. It will leave her image tarnished - and she will wish she never listened to others regarding a run for office.

It’s one thing to make a political statement in a room full of Hollywood types - who support her. It’s very different to deal with the invasive mess of a campaign.

I know nothing about Oprah. Maybe she’s got no skeletons hiding in her walk in closets. But I’m sure somebody will find some dirt...

I have read her own mother describes her as an opportunistic manipulative bitch and that while she seems all nice outside on the inside she is sociopath with no morals or conscience. Hillary with better PR.
That added to the fact she pimped for Harvey Weinstein to gain power favor and influence puts her right up there with the biggest problem this nation is facing. She would just be another facade in DC that has a secret agenda to make herself queen and rich by stealing from the taxpayers. She is no different from the thieves and egomaniacs that are there now.

If the Democrats are foolish enough to put Oprah up as their 2020 presidential candidate, it will mean overwhelming Republican majorities in both the House and Senate along with reelection of Trump.

I don't say this because I have anything against Winfrey. She is probably a nice person and certainly is smart enough to have made a lot of money. But she is also a very public supporter of nearly everything that middle America has made it clear it opposes and she has a long history of close connections to people who are now almost universally hated (like her close 25 year friendship with Harvey Weinstein). Anyone who has paid attention to her remarks on politics would recognize that she waivers between "socialism is the future" and "government should control that."

If Oprah were to run for President, she might as well pick Bradley (aka Chelsea) Manning as her vice-presidential candidate. That way the Democrats can commit suicide without Hillary's help.
