Hello all ;) I’m a curvy, chocolate, thick fit dancer. I don’t have the flattest tummy just yet, but I work out and I’m working on it. Can I wear certain bottoms to “hide” this while I’m working at it? I’ve recently decided to become a dancer. Auditioned at one club where I didn’t see any black dancers, and the manager told me to call him in a week or so BC they are slow (which they were dead when I arrived) I asked for his feedback since it’s my first time and I auditioned but wasn’t hired on the spot. He said nothing. Said I was nice looking and was comfy on stage. I called two weeks later and he said still slow, but when I gave my name, he still had my info. Said he wouldn’t keep it if I weren’t even to be considered. What does that really mean?.....I’m not trying to be at a club that’s only for black dancers. Nothing against us at all, the customers in those clubs usually want you to do way too much for a dollar and I’m not trying to have that “twerk all day” image as a dancer. Sometimes yes, shaking and magically moving it around, of course. Just not all day as if i were in Nelly’s tip drill video. Most dancers I’ve been seeing around are stick skinny and not black :( I don’t fit in that category of course. Smooth chocolate complexion nice boobs big round butt (thx lunges :)....thick pretty toned thighs. I have meat. I’m a woman lol. I am def something to hold on too, not runway style at all. My main question is has anyone been to Gold Club Chicago or scores? Do they hire women like me? Do you know any other Midwest clubs that do also? Your knowledgeable response would be appreciated:)

Gold Club honestly isn't that picky on hiring dancers (if Thursdays, one of their peak days, are any indication). They need more dancers as opposed to their sister club PoleKatz, which has girls to spare (at least on weekends and Tuesdays). About 25% of their dancers are black, many of them not the fittest. I don't know if you're euphemistically using the terms curvy and thick. Are the curves in the right places? Or pics as they say or get the ... Bottoms to cover up stomach? I knew a dancer that practically wore granny type panties to cover up an ugly tattoo on her stomach (maybe she thought that was an improvement over stretch marks, smh), and it was not a good look, otherwise she was quite lovely.
Scores Chicago is probably much pickier as is the Admiral Theatre (very few "thick" dancers, if any that are truly thick work there, and only about 10-15% black dancers, almost all of them "skinny"). Never been to Scores and never will, but i don't think they hire any black girls on the spot, or almost never. Maybe if they were "model" quality with implants (breasts not butt). That club loves implants for whatever reason; they've even heavily suggested applicants with perfectly nice breasts to get implants if they wanted to work there, WTF >( . I don't know why you would want to work there. I think or heard (so it might not be accurate) you have to pay something like $200 at the beginning of the shift and that weeds out a lot of girls that have no chance there. And it's not an extras club so i don't know how a more average looking girl, let alone a WOC, would make a lot of money there.
Never been to gold club but agree with dirk about scores.
Thank you so much for your input! I’m new to this, so I’ve never heard of scores or the “look” they have going over there. You’re right, I wouldn’t want to work there at all. Granny panties out the window. I needed that laugh :) and no, I’m not saying thick but in reality I’m fat. Curves in all the right places. Thanks for not judging, I just wanted an honest true blue opinion. Thanks.......since I got you here ;).......what about industrial strip or 390? Arnie’s and the boxxx are the kind of clubs I don’t want to dance at.
If you are on the chubby side, your makeup, hair, and outfit need to be spot on. Many of the bigger girls wear thong onesies, and that seems to go over just fine. You just need to be able to pull the top down. Go the classy clean cut route. Smile, and be friendly to the staff and girls, when you audition.
Thank you bj....I wouldn’t consider myself on the chubby side. Then again in this world I don’t know what’s “not skinny” vs thick. The skinny I’ve seen so far is frail. I carry my weight well. No back rolls Etc. I’m so new to this and nervous
Emphasize your assets (booty, breasts), i.e. don't hide your best assets that way they can focus on that vs your weaknesses.
Upscale clubs tend to hire a certain type which is often small and thin - and mixed clubs in general seem to half an unwritten quota w.r.t. the # of ebonies they will hire.
Post some pics to imgbox.com and then post the link here so we can gauge which club may be a fit for you.
AFAIK Jimmy's is AA friendly.
You may need to read some reviews on here or visit some clubs so you can do some research as to the types of dancers a particular club hires, i.e. if u don't see any dancers that look similar to you then that may not be a club that may hire you.
