Beyond Tijuana

We've covered TJ in pretty good detail. I'm curious about other parts of Mexico. Anybody have any experience with the strip clubs or brothels in Mexico City, Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Vallarta, or Cancun?

Thanks for sharing your experiences with us.

Not recently but I have been to clubs/brothels in Ensenada, La Paz, San Luis Rio Colorado, Hermosillo, Culican, Mazatlan, Guadalajara, Mexico DF & Acapulco. I've traveled by air, ship, car, and bus.

I always thought that Acapulco was the best and that the border towns were the worst. Best prices were at the non tourist towns but you had better have some Spanish.

But in today's climate of violence in Mexico I would stay strictly to the tourist resorts excluding Acapulco.

Wow Shadow. You've covered quite a bit of ground. Two votes for Acapulco. Interesting. I may have to get up the courage to check it out. I feel safe going to Tijuana, but Acapulco scares me, based on all of the violence and travel warnings this past year. I think I read that U.S. government employees are not allowed to travel there and it has the highest travel advisory right now, for all of Mexico.

There was a shootout that shutdown downtown Acapulco for almost a week earlier this year. It was not as big of a deal as the last time this happened--a year ago. Guerrero in general is kind of a scary place to visit right now. This is where a bus load of young protesters disappeared because they were on their way to disrupt an event that a mayor's wife would be attending. No one has any clue where those bodies are. On the plus side, Tabares has midget waiters on roller skates. That's something unique to behold.

There's lots of grimy places on Mexico City but the selection is not spectacular. More importantly, you need a local to guide you there or there is a distinct possibility that you might not get what you paid for.

TJ is the adult tourism destination of Mexico at present. This is true not only for gringo tourists but Mexican nationals as well. Most of the professional talent will spend at least a portion of the year in TJ due to the employment opportunities of the market. You'll find the best selection of girls in TJ, and the prices are often as competitive as other tourist drags due to the availability.

Great info. Thanks l00ber. Crazy about a whole busload of protestors disappearing. It might be safer to protest in Russia. Or, equally dangerous.

"Mexicali is different than Tijuana. There is a more relaxed feeling, more personal."

Never been there, but plan to.

How about some of these small border towns, like say Ojinaga?

And there are even smaller border towns, with approved crossings.

My feeling is that in Mexico, if there is a bar, it has at least a puta or two. Their basic biz form is Hooker Bar, or House of Dates.

San Jose Mexican bars will usually have a hooker or two. Very obvious during the day time, though they don't dress sexy.

    Thoughts?
