Different times, Different Signs

Fat, drunk and stupid is no way to go through life

Winston Churchill would hold up two fingers in the shape of "V" during World War II. V for Victory.

The hippies and anti war protesters during the Vietnam era used the same symbol for "peace".

In the present say, many dancers' boyfriends post selfies on Facebook using the V-sign. Please explain.

Well, sometimes if you hold the V to your mouth and stick your tongue between it, that's like you're saying a girl is a lesbian or some people take it as you're saying you like to lick va-jay-jays

Dancers often give me the V sign, but they keep the index finger down.

I seem to remember that holding two fingers up (like in a peace sign here in America) is considered flipping the bird in Australia. I also seem to remember Bush Sr. making that gaff when he did a tour of the area during his presidency.

In some countries it's a flip off but you have to turn it around (palm facing backward). In Mexico, you have to put the two fingers on either side of your nose.

I like it when a dancer shows me the V sign with her tongue in the middle of it.
