CASSELBERRY, Fla. —
A woman was arrested on indecent exposure charges after officers said she was found without pants or underwear sitting on a bench inside a Bob Evans restaurant, police said.
According to an arrest report, the incident began Friday outside of Ayanna Alexander's apartment complex when a neighbor called to complain that Alexander was naked and sitting on the road.
But by the time an officer responded, Alexander was dressed and in her apartment.
Police said Alexander, 20, denied sitting naked outside and asked Officer Ryan McIntosh for a ride to her job at Rachel's Gentlemen's Club, where she dances.
Police said Alexander didn't appear to be impaired or having any medical issues, so the officer called for permission and then drove Alexander to the club.
"He thought it was appropriate to ask and get permission to give her a ride, and the supervisor agreed," said William Nas of the Casselberry Police Department.
When Channel 9's Kenneth Craig asked if it was normal operating procedure to give someone a ride, a police spokesman said the officer asked for and received permission to drive Alexander to the strip club and that officers are indeed allowed to give people free rides.
Police said they're not investigating the officer because no policy was broken.
"Based on policy, officers have the discretion to, under (certain) circumstances, an officer has the discretion to give somebody a ride somewhere," said Nas.
But shortly after McIntosh dropped Alexander off, police received a call about a woman trashing a nearby Bob Evans restaurant.
The report stated that when police arrived, Alexander was sitting on a bench in the restaurant without pants or underwear and that she then removed her top while officers questioned her.
Police said they were telling Alexander to put her clothes back on, but she told them she "wanted to go to jail."
When McIntosh asked Alexander why she didn't go to work after he dropped her off, she said she "didn't feel like working."
Employees at Bob Evans said before Alexander removed her clothes, she was throwing things around and disturbing customers.
Alexander was arrested on charges of indecent exposure, trespassing after being given a warning and disturbing the peace, police said.
Go her for photo.
