A Winnipeg man is behind bars and facing several charges after two incidents â€” one involving a chainsaw â€” at a strip club in St. Boniface earlier this week.

Ray Rybachuk, 42, has been charged with several counts of mischief and uttering threats after he vandalized a washroom at Teasers Tuesday, then returned on Thursday with a chainsaw and damaged the roof.

Const. Jason Michalyshen said police want to keep him in custody for now.

â€œWe were opposed to his release, whether or not he met conditions of bailâ€¦that would be a matter for the courts,â€ Michalyshen said.

Public records show that Rybachuk is the owner of the building as well as part owner of the club.

Rybachuk has a long history of criminal activity, with multiple convictions for drug trafficking, money laundering, assault and obstructing justice
