Clothes were not the only things flying around at a south side strip club early Tuesday morning. Around two o'clock a fight broke out between some men inside Diamonds Gentleman's Club on Gateway Boulevard and 46th avenue.
They took it outside, where one of those involved decided to up the ante and pulled a gun. Shots were fired. Two men were hit. That doesn't sound lucky, but they are, because their wounds are not life threatening.
The gunmen got away, possibly with three other people in a white car. Police are gathering evidence and plan to check out the club's surveillance video to see if it can provide more clues as to what happened and who's responsible. (rh,blb)
No surprise about this story, shadowcat. I know this club and it has had trouble with under-age drinking in the past. (In Canada, under-age means 17 and under). There is pretty rigid security before entering this club - pat down, wand, and ID scan. The club itself is located on a very busy road in a hotel, commercial, shopping area of Edmonton.
IMO, the second best club in Edmonton. But then, that is like saying that dying from a heart attack is better than dying from cancer.
