Club didn't protect the bouncer.

A STRIP club bouncer whose ear was bitten off in a King St brawl is suing his bosses.

Troy Pollard and another bouncer were working at the notorious Showgirls Bar 20 strip club when they were set upon by a gang of six men last year.

Mr Pollard had half of his ear bitten off in the fracas. A County Court writ filed last week claims both the club and the company it contracted to provide security services, MKS Security, knew the bouncers were in danger but failed to protect them.

Nowicki Carbone lawyer John Karantzis said Mr Pollard did not stand a chance on the night he was attacked outside the club.

"Everyone knows about the violence that occurs in these types of places and yet at the time there was only two bouncers manning the door," Mr Karantzis said.

He said security staff at another strip club had radioed through to his client and security staff at other venues to warn them that a group of six drunk males had been kicked out of the club.

"When that group was told they couldn't come in to Bar 20, they proceeded to assault the bouncers and in the course of that our client had half his ear bitten off," Mr Karantzis said.
