An early morning shooting in Evansville leaves three people injured and one man behind bars. It happened at Scores Gentleman's Club in Downtown Evansville around 3:30 am. When officers arrived, they say witnesses pointed out the alleged shooter. Police say Derek Johnson tried to flee the scene but was apprehended. Eyewitness news has exclusive video. Witnesses on the scene say the alleged gunman had a 22- caliber revolver in his right hand and fired multiple shots.
Sergeant D.J. Thompson with the Evansville Police Department describes this early New Year's Eve shooting at Scores. A witness told officers that he chased Johnson around the building, Police caught him near a parked vehicle. Eyewitness News was on the scene as he was taken into custody. Sergeant Thompson says it could've been worse. Three people were hit by bullets, 2 were taken to Deaconess and one to Saint Mary's. Since its the end of the year, police say they are taking necessary precautions. The motive and condition of the victims remain unknown. Johnson is being held in the Vanderburgh County Jail. He is due in court January 5th at 9:30 am

Must've been out of bullets--otherwise I can't see chasing a guy with a gun (who's used it already).
