Note: On air, the news story reported that he's also under investigation in the death of a prostitute on the property adjacent to the one he was guarding.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A security guard is accused of raping a prostitute at gunpoint after offering her a ride.

Steven Alexander Hobbs, 40, is charged with aggravated sexual assault of an adult. According to court documents, a woman who admittedly works as a prostitute told the Pasadena police that on June 17 she was walking on the road when a man offered her a ride. Once in the vehicle, they agreed to go to a motel for sex.

The victim told police that at that point the man pulled a gun on her and threatened to shoot her if she didn't take off all her clothes in the vehicle. She says he drove to a deserted area and forced her to perform a sex act at gunpoint. Then the victim says the man handcuffed her hands and feet, beat her with what appeared to be a mop handle and forcibly raped her while threatening her life.

The woman told police at one point during the assault and beating, her attacker put on a uniform that had patches on the shirt and made a phone call that sounded like he was checking in with a dispatcher or employer.

Police say further investigation led to Hobbs, who was employed by MPS Security Services as a security guard. Court documents say Hobbs matched the victim's description and she identified him from a photo lineup. Hobbs' employer told police he was assigned to work in the area of the attack at that time.

Bail in the felony case has been set at $50,000.

MPS Security Services is probably regretting that hire (as their lawyer gets a phone call...)
