sinclair, i don't know what craigs is like in your neck of the woods but around here to me it's very obvious that the majority of the casual ads are fake.
I have emailed some out of curiosity and they are all about trying to get you to sign up for "verification services" that will cost $1-5. Sure that does not seem like much but if you successfully spam 100 guys with that tactic the money ads up.
Also I have seen some wanting me to first join their webcam site so we could talk and get to know each other better. Of course these are not free either.
I do remember reading on TER that craigslist ads that used to advertise "Columbus's Finest" were cops.
I have found one person on craiglist who seems legit. She offers private dance sessions at her condo. I have exchanged some emails but I can't seem to find any TER info on her.
Here are some examples from the casual encounters for Columbus:
