(CANVAS STAFF REPORTS) - Football fans throughout Paraguay may still be mourning their team's heartbreaking loss to Spain in the World Cup quarterfinals, but they just got won one heck of a consolation prize.
Larissa Riquelme, the lingerie model whose enthusiastic support for her home country became the talk of the tournament and made her one of the most searched people on the planet, had pledged to run naked through the streets of Paraguay if her home country's soccer squad won the World Cup.
Now the model, who titillated football fans across the globe, said she is still willing to make her birthday-suit sprint even though her team was defeated, reported the Metro .
The 25-year-old model said that her nude run "will be a present to all of the players, and for all the people in Paraguay to enjoy."
"They tried as hard as possible and gave it their all on the field."
Riquelme had declared if Paraguay won the tournament she would happily run down the main street in Asuncion naked, echoing an earlier pledge by Argentina coach Diego Maradona to do the same in Buenos Aires.
Underdog Paraguay team fell two wins short of its end of the bargain, losing to Spain, 1-0, in the quarterfinals last weekend.
Riquelme has not announced an exact date for her au natural run. But rest assured, much of South America is anxiously waiting and hopes it's sometime before Paraguay's next World Cup run in 2014.
