Your employers or do you wait until you get home? My previous employer has sites like this blocked. Even screen savers were checked. Political correctness. Not even pictures of your kids. I got busted for playing on line solitaire. Just a warning. I know of 2 who that got busted for sharing a photo shop picture of the Mona Lisa. One got suspended for a couple of days. The other got reduced in rank. The picture was started by a female who did NOT get caught.
Do you guys with S/O's have to wait until they are not around? I answer to no one.
With smart phones all this blocking is going to amount to nothing and it should amount to nothing.
Generally on the first websense warning, I generally am looking starting right at that moment. (And usually when I am searching programming blogs and sites!)
My own, or my phone, never the one at work. Visiting "adult" related sites is a potentially terminal offense. I have been known to post or browse on my phone while at work, but what they don't know, won't hurt 'em. I do have to be careful that noone sees me doing it, though.
At home, I just make sure the kids aren't around. The wife just smirks. :)
Typically my own. My employer also blocks sites like these, but their blocking app only works when I'm on their network, so on rare occasions when I've been traveling I'll use my work laptop on a hotel network to check out TUSCL. However, I am extremely careful about covering my tracks, and I also wouldn't really mind getting fired all that much, so I wouldn't recommend that anyone take my lead.
I use my computer only. A few years back, we did have access at work and the boss started checking our usage, so he terminated our access unless we used the computers in the office. No way, am I going to surf adult sites on those computers!!
I use my own computer. I can't even check my facebook account at work cuz it's blocked. And besides, I don't want HR to know what my personal sites are, for the can see that!! I think that I can wait til I get home.
My own computer, through their network. I only came on TUSCL a few times from work, now I just wait to get home...after everyone goes to sleep. This would not be acceptable to the S/O.
I don't have a job where I use a computer at work, so I go at home. I probably wouldn't use it there even if I could. I suppose if I had an iPhone or some similar device I'd use that.
I have four computers in front of me as I type. This one is my desktop, MY home use. My laptop, MY road use. Company laptop, only for Company. The fourth, a laptop that belongs to my favorite SC bartender. She hates Vista, so I am going to load a different OS for her.
I use my own laptop at home. They block internet at office and monitor it too. I have a interntet capable phone and have checked escort ads from work with it. However, it can be limited compared to a laptop. It pisses me off I cant get my personal laptop to get wireless from the office.
Has anyone ever used a computer at the local library to check a site like this? I haven't and am just wondering! I met a ATF at the library about a year ago and taught her how to use a computer that she would be using there ---still can't figure out why she won't just buy one herself for home ---I guess she does not want her S/O surfing at home
yeah, sp, I was in Baltimore one time visiting a cyberfriend(wow, there are real people out there) and I surfed a few sites at the local library. It was kinda nerve-wracking, but not all libraries have filters on their computers. I knew this one guy who hung out in adult chat rooms online and wondered how long it was going to be before he got busted by the staff. Back last summer, there was some fag up in Macomb county that was hitting on guys at the public library for sex, while on the public computers. He got busted!!
