Tipping bouncers at VIP/private areas

Does anyone ever do it to get a more 'private' dance than they might otherwise get or is it a complete waste of money? I expect it depends on club/bouncer etc? If you do tip, how much?

I typically tip the bouncer a 10 spot when I am visiting clubs in Vegas, I don't tip anywhere else.

tusclbro sums it up well. If you just plan on visiting the club once in your life or every few years then it is not necessary to tip well. Jack joint is a small hole in the wall type of strip club. Very small, no frills or anything fancy. Just girls willing to work for your money.

I have been in a couple of clubs where the dancer recommended to tip the bouncer so he would not pay attention. She seemed to know what she was talking about as it worked. However, in most clubs I have been in, tipping is not necessary.

Yes, if the girl is worth it and there's an opportunity for mileage.

Nice definition for jack joint, usually they have bouncers who double as doormen, cleaner, bar-back, and ice-jockey, not usually customary to tip them if they have nothing to do with guarding a lap dance room/area

Not to be confused with "jack shack", which means, ahem, a self-service establishment. I had thought that was what Bro was always talking about. I'm glad for him that it's not.

Some clubs in Detroit require the dancers to pay $5.00 to the bouncer for each trip to the VIP. Of course, the dancer expects the patron to pay the bouncer. She's not going to take it out of her money.

TB- c'mon jack shack's are several-- steps below a jack joint. I mean there is a huge difference between DIY in a vid booth or behind plexiglass and the direct contact with a stripper at a jack joint. jack shacks are old school/adult bookstores before the age of internet porn, a relic from the cold war.

I have only tipped a bird dog once. I was leaving my favorite strip club and found my self with a flat tire. My cell phone was dead. He called AAA for me on his phone and then came back into the club to get me when AAA showed up. $5.00 tip. I did tip a house mom once when the dancer told me that she would leave us alone. Another $5.00. Tips are supposed to be based upon the quality of service provided. The old standby of 15% has been replaced by 20%. I buy a $3.00 coke in a club and tip $1.00. That's a lot more than 20% but acceptable. Tip for a BBBJ is dependent on whether she swallows or not. lol...
