I believe this club has been around since the early sixties. My uncle remarked that he and my father used to go there long ago. I used to go there back in the nineties and it was pretty run down then.

I had some free time last Sunday, and it was the only club open. So, I drove into the parking lot with very low expectations. However, I was very surprised!

The parking lot is located behind the club and is very secluded and private, and the entrance to the club is to the rear. As I walked to the club, I was greeted very gruffly by a huge security guard that could have been a washed up professional wrestler. This guy was enormous, fat and a little grumpy.

I opened the door and stepped into the little reception area where you normally pay the cover, but it was empty. As I continued into the club I noticed that it had been completely remodeled. There is no smoking in clubs within the Beaumont city limit so they added an outdoor patio. They have new carpet and wall coverings along with some new furniture. The place looked very up to date, comfortable, and very dark. There was no one on stage! As the waitress approached I realized that I knew her from somewhere. She was a waitress there back in the early nineties, and I don’t think she was new then. I asked here if there were any dancers tonight, and she said “They are on the way.” I didn’t have anywhere else to go; so, I ordered a beer and waited to see what showed up. The waitress said there is normally a $5 cover, but since the dancers weren’t there, they weren’t charging a cover tonight.
