There's nothing fancy about this place....

There's nothing fancy about this place. It has a strong neighborhood dive vibe to it. But I like my clubs gritty and this one qualifies. It's really small, there's pretty much zero privacy, and they probably love their smoke-making machine a little too much, but I've seen worse. The stage is small -- like 6x6 feet -- but big enough to do the job. I think the place is clean, but it has such a naturally seedy, lived-in look to it, it was hard to know for sure. There's no cover and drink prices aren't awful. Dancers' drinks were $8.

I dropped by around 6 and stayed through the 7:30 shift change, so I got a look at both the day and night lineups. Most were 5s and 6s, with several on the day crew a little on the heavy side, but friendly. Really friendly. Like some of them don't shake your hand when they introduce themselves. They reach right past it and grab something more interesting. Most of them look to be late 20s to mid 30s, so if you're looking for sweet young things look elsewhere. These are women. One of them (that didn't interest me at all) was pretty pushy about buying her a drink -- they do have a quota -- but eventually took no for an answer when I told her I was waiting for someone else. I ended up getting a few dances from a plump, darker skinned day shift girl (Puerto Rican I think) who definitely knew what she was doing. The intensity level went up with each song, which was fun. From my experience and from glancing at other dancers doing their thing in the two small VIP areas, I got the sense that there's probably not a bad grind in the place. I didn't see any air dancing going on and my hands got to rove quite a bit. Tipping at the stage will get you a flash of the kitty about half the time.

I'm going to have to go back in the evening next time to get to know a couple of the late crew. There was a tall, young blonde who was by far the class of the field, but by the time she came in, I was out of time and money. They had a DJ setting up when I left, but during the day the girls just run a juke box.
