As said elsewhere, took the opportunity to do a bit of comparing between the two clubs located close to each other (C and A) in my last DC trip. A DC club can be enjoyable once one makes himself at peace with what the laws of DC say. Within the borders of the district what you'll have is a bar with dancing girls, not a lapdance factory.
Archibald's has a different vibe from its close competitor - it shares half the building of a regular sports bar/pool room and the setup in the strip side is more like a sports bar, but with naked girls dancing. Actually visited both a Wednesday and a Friday early evening, both times a decent crowd for the day and time. However depending on where you end up sitting the sight lines can be bad to either or both stages.
A variety of dancers, with quite some diversity of body shape and of inking. Fortunately the two level layout and the two simultaneous stages in each level mean that if you can beat the sightlines issue you should always have someone up that does it for you. Very good lighting including ocassionally on the stage which is not always in a girl's best interest: alas a number of the girls really could use soft focus. The style is classic DC: tip at stage or during their post-dance tip walk. Some very cute bartenders, one could wish they were dancing as well. Still, the overall quality of the experience leaves you sort of scratching your head, I mean this IS K St. in Washington DC, and this place is pretty middle-of-the-road for the address. Glass half full, of course, is that the cost of an evening here is a mere fraction of what an evening at a lap dance club would hurt.
