I visited Marlin's on a number...

I visited Marlin's on a number of consecutive weekday evenings in late March 2010 while on vacation. Based on the limited number of reviews posted here, apparently not many members have made it to this club. Since it is overall a great club and much safer than one might think for a Mexican location, I will add another update and review.

The club is very easy to find. It is located on highway # 307, which is the main highway running south of Cancun along the Mexican Reveria. It is in a large building at the intersection of # 307 and Avenue Juarez in the heart of Playa Del Carmen. It used to open at 11:00 am, but apparently due to difficult economic conditions, it now opens at 8:00 pm and remains open until around 5:00 am. Very few dancers arrive before 9:00 pm and it doesn't really get rolling until after 10:00 pm. The club is now in only one part of the building. It used to be in one smaller part during the day and move to a larger part of the building at night.

The doormen will try to charge you a $ 20 cover charge, but if you give them $ 10, they will let you in. You can safely park a rental car in back of the building. A couple of local guys will direct you where to park and will expect a couple of dollars ($ 2) tip when you leave. It is also a short cab ride from most of the hotels.
