If you are in downtown Albuquerque, your only choice in clubs is Knockouts. It is located on Central Avenueand is easily accessible by walking from nearby hotels. Downtown Albuquerque is relatively safe. If you have transportation you are probably better off going to TD's North though, the class club of Albuquerque for what that is worth. Knockouts is a distant third. The place is dark, there is a central stage and two VIP areas, one with private booths and one that is open and actually costs more. There is hardly anyone in the open area, so I have never figured this dichotomy out. Drinks are reasonably price and there is no cover during the day. As in all of Albuuerque, there is no smoking.

There is usually a nice mix of dancers. The dances on the floor are $5 and usually worth the money, depending of course on the dancer. It used to be there wasn't much difference between dances on the floor and dances in the VIP area, but now the dances in the VIP area are usually better and only cost $10. Most dancers push the VIP area. The type of dance varies considerably with the dancer, and the last time I was there all of the dancers were pretty intolerant of any touching, so they may be cracking down on this. There appear to be cameras in the VIP area as well. The amount of enforcement varies and there is always some pressure from the city to close this place down as most view it as a bit of a blight on downtown renewal. We have a new mayor, so that may have something to do with it. Having said that you can usually get a good dance from Bridgette, Nubia, and Angel, but they weren't there the last time I was. I wouldn't receommend the dancers that were there though.
