I never really quite believed that...

I never really quite believed that this place was real, always seemed out of place on the map. I finally got over to check it out on Sunday. Well it's real, and it's fun!

The neighborhood is not at all scary, and the parking is plentiful if you don't mind a couple blocks' walk. The outside is indeed utterly uninviting, but the inside's not half bad. A narrow stairway leads to a pretty large (for NYC) upstairs space, about half stage area and half bar and lounge. The bar was friendly and decently stocked, looks like a good place to hang out and watch TV on slow night. $6 beer, including imports. Stage has poles and could probably sport 3 or 4 dancers at once, but I only ever saw one at a time. No coat check or bathroom attendant; men's room was ugly but uneventful.

The place was just barely open when I got there, so they didn't bother to charge cover. Dancers didn't show up until after 10. A good mix racially -- Black, Latina, Asian, Slavic. There were definitely some lookers, and some with, eh, great personality. There was not a lot of focus on actual dancing, but you can sit by the stage and get pretty friendly with the girls for a couple dollars. $20 for lapdances in the back, no pressure for additional tips (but I always tip so it's hard to be sure about that.) The lapdance room is one long cushioned bench, with a fair amount of privacy from the rest of the bar but none from other lapdance patrons. Had dances with several lovely chicks; the best were Maria and Lilah. The dances are with bikini and g-string, but enthusiastic, high-contact, and with very liberal roaming encouraged. There's also a semi-curtained vip booth for $175/half hour, but I was told the action there isn't any better.
