I saw on another board that...

I saw on another board that someone I knew was now bartending here a couple of days a week, so I dropped in for the first time in a while. It's under new management. Decor has been upgraded a little; not a whole lot better but very clean especially for this neighborhood. Lighting seemed to be lower than before but maybe that's the dark paint on the walls & ceiling. (Why are so many club renovations these days including so much black paint?)

I went in the afternoon and things were quite quiet. Probably the lack of dancers (there was one on duty) and the fact that the lottery machines are no longer there. Also, it was a sunny day in February so that tends to keep people away from the bars. Pool table is gone. And I didn't see any private dance area, though the raised area in the back is no longer as open as it was so maybe there's something there. New patio for smokers. I doubt you can make any money running a small club these days without lottery, so I assume it's in progress.

Note: my ratings attached to this review are pretty meaningless since there wasn't much to review (especially dancers). But the new owners seem to want the place a little less dumpy so that's a good thing. I like a small club because you can usually talk quite a bit with the dancers. I don't live or work near hear so I probably won't be back for a while unless things pick up. (I expect it will either pick up or go out of business.)
