I have been to the King of Diamonds before but for new people leave your cell phone in the car. The bouncers say they take cell phones though I have not seen it. There is a separate entrance before you get into the club where you pay the cover charge then move on to a small to medium sized strip club that serves alcohol and has totally nude dancers which is uncommon in the Minneapolis area. The wait staff is mostly friendly, there is a two drink minimum that is rarely and there are two stages. Each girl dances on the lower stage first, and then moves up to a smaller stage next to the second bar area. There is a VIP style area with couches and you can buy dances at your table or these strange benches but no couches in the normal bar area.

The quality of private dances depends on the girl but when the girls are stage dancing the customer is on one side of the rail and the dancer is on the other. I could not tell how good a dance I might get until I actual bought a dance; since bar area dances are $10 for the normal length song that wasn’t a problem. VIP area starts at $80 for 3 songs and I believe it is $180-$200 for a half hour. I have only had one VIP area dance that was markedly better than the dance I got in the bar area. The only real benefit is that the girl can grind against you more in the couch and you are not sitting shoulder to shoulder with your buddy or some stranger while you are getting a couch dance.

The King of Diamonds is an alright place that I will likely return to but I like more attention at the tip rail and more attention in the VIP area that can be found at a few other clubs in Minneapolis.
