Visited on Thursday, Oct. 15, 2009 6:15pm, towards the end of the day shift. The glizt is everywhere in this horseshoe shaped club, with the stage in the center. The apppearance of upscale glamour is everywhere. Sadly, the lack of energy doesn't measure up the the trappings. (No day cover, but mixed drinks are $9.25) The dancers, many flat-chested, walk around the stage with bored and pained expressions pretending that strolling is dancing. Their lack of spark seemed to infect the customers who generally looked listless and bored on this Thursday afternoon. Right after the 7pm review, over half the patrons left and I can't blame them after looking at the selection of dancers. This night was the first appearance of a feature pornstar, which might have accounted for the long line of cars outside as the shift changed and the night crew was coming in. Recent raids on The Penthouse may account for a weak dancer array as some of the stars have moved to other, safer, clubs trying to avoid the Detroit election year club crack down. I was disappointed in the quality of dancers, slowness of service at the bar and the dullness of the dance routines. But, I will try again later when the heat is off and see if the energy is restored.
