Since Richard's moved to its new location there have been some good and bad aspects to the new operation. First, the good: The new location is "new" -- the former location was a converted steakhouse and was really showing its age. Though smaller, the new location is more open and has better lighting and a better sound system. The bad: The new location is off the beaten path (the former was right on Broad Street, Richmond's main drag), with limited parking. The single stage is no better than the one at the old location and, being rectangular with no runway, it does not easily allow two dancers to perform at the same time -- this is really not a problem though, as they rarely have more than one dancer on stage. The typical shift except on weekends is only 4 dancers working in rapid rotation. Although "private" dances are available, there is no separate area for these (they are really more akin to table dances). All in all, Richards is a place where you can go and have a beer and maybe a bite to eat while watching relatively attractive women dance -- but it's not really any more than that.
