MJX208: Kandy’s 2025, visits #4 and #5, two more strike outs
Context:
This review covers two visits: Visit #4 (V4) and Visit #5 (V5). Both visits were Sat nights arriving around 8.40 and departing around 12:00-12:15, as usual. Both nights were relatively slow with V5 being especially slow.
.
Location:
East of Edinboro, a good ~20 miles south of Erie. Very rural, watch for the deer. Cop was out in Edinboro on the way back to the hotel (on west side of town).
.
Parking / Valet:
Same as always. Large lot, no valet, camera-ed up, watched by the doorman. No cell phones allow ITC, leave them in your car. Both nights the lot was relatively empty, consistent with slower nights. On V5, the lot was very empty, like I’ve never seen before when I left.
.
The Club:
The general club info has been described in detail in previous reviews. Cover is $20 when there no discount is in effect. There is usually a discount to $10 entry if before 9p and NO feature performance. IDs are scanned and data are retained. They maintain a lifetime band list. The club is BYOB, and there is a beer distributor next door. The club is theoretically non-smoking but both of these visits encountered noticeable vaping all around the main floor. The club is generally cold and dancers were taking “breaks” on the outside smoking patio to warm up (see mingling section). With a slower club vibe, it was nice not being overwhelmed by the competition.
.
Dancers:
V4: 21 names on the board. 2 AA, rest white. A good mix of recognizable and new recruits. One new dancer might have potential but I did not get to talk to. (See mingling section.)
V5: 16 names on the board. 2 AA, rest white, zero of the new recruits. Bummer. Of the 16, only about 10 overlapped with the V4 crew.
.
Most have an appropriate physique for the profession. Only a few heffers. One local all-star was back in the house, and one is still MIA, both times. There is a second all-star who’s been around lately.
.
Stage Show:
V4: Despite things being a bit on the slow side, they were doing 2 dancers at a time on stage. Early in the evening it was 4 song sets, but the rotation started to drag on longer as the night wore on and more and more dancers were booked up in the back.
V5: It varied between 1 and 2 dancers on stage. The stage rotation seem to recycle quite quickly with most dancers “busy in the rooms.”
.
Some get nude on stage; some do not. Each dancer does her own thing. A few dancers would be interactive at the stage, but generally not much interaction overall.
.
Mingling:
I have a lot of thoughts here, so please bear with me a bit. I apologize that this is a bit discussion-y. Dancers are allowed to mingle on the floor. On one hand…in my (stupid) head I would seem to think that the seller should be trying to sell to the buyer. A few of the dancers try a little bit but overall not really. In general most of the dancers post up with a regular or even a bouncer or even other dancers and sit there...forever. Now, if dancer A shouldn’t intercede and take a customer away from dancer B… one would think a similar dynamic applies. Customer A shouldn’t intercede when a dancer is trying to sell to customer B, right? On the other hand… I get it, the dancers get tired of the rejection and (especially) the semi-rejection. So, they stick with what they know (regulars) and/or wait for you to approach. I guess my point is that there needs to be a better setup where it is clear that a dancer isn’t working a sale and you are “clear” to approach. A related though: now a dancer should try harder that “wanna dance,” but come on, if it has been more than 5-10 minutes you should move on or close the sale, no? Or do whales get an unlimited clock? IDK. Another thing I’ve noticed here is that there seems to be much more dancers approaching customers who are sitting at the stage, and not approaching customers at the other seats. A lot of other clubs don’t allow dancers to intercede when a customer is tipping at the stage. On thing I “should” try more is to mention something to a dancer I like when she’s on stage to come talk to me after her stage set.
.
V4: As mentioned before, the club was a bit slow on this night. I was disappointed that there was not more circulation… but I rolled the dice and approached a few dancers. 2 of 3 attempts worked out. Also, FWIW, I got way more offers when sitting at the stage than elsewhere.
.
V5: It was scary slow. I really can’t be too forgiving on getting zero approaches. Again,
I rolled the dice and approached a few dancers with 2 of 3 attempts worked out. I asked one dancer to find me when she was free, but then never materialized later. I get how dancers feel (see above). It sure stings when it doesn’t pan out.
.
Dances:
Topless LDs are 3/$40 on Saturday. Mileage varies significantly, but you can do well if you chose wisely. Every dancer does her own thing in the rooms. I’ve gotten a lot of comments in other reviews to be more specific, I wish I could, but things are all over the map on this point. Also, what happens for one customer on one night means very little for a different customer or a different night. I’ve been quoted wildly different rules by the same dancer on different occasions.
.
Value:
The 3/$40 LDs are excellent value if you connect with a dancer giving high caliber LDs. I think the base rate of $120/30min for the room is good compared to other comparable clubs, but tips and performance on top of that varies tremendously. I’ve said this before, it’s not the in-club costs that are killing me, it’s everything else. Personally, the ROI hasn’t been here lately to justify everything else this takes.
.
Overall:
This is my CF club, but waning desires. I struggle with some of the open ended-ness but that’s my hang up. Also, there is little to no consistency of performance here.
V4: I enjoyed the slower, more laid back vibe of the slower night.
V5: As stated previous, scary slow. It was much harder to enjoy compared to V4, and I feel like I should have accomplished far more given the reduced competition.
.
Museum Rating:
V4: 8/10. More than enough that fit my tastes, so I was quite content; but there was also a fair share of uninspiring. You might say I’m being overly generous, but I was OK with the range of talent as long as there was enough of what I like.
V5: 6/10. They was enough that fit my tastes, but with the smaller roster, the average was noticeably lower.
.
Amusement Rating:
V4: 7/10. I did not make the reverend proud, but I had some good handsy LDs with some favs that I normally don’t get chances with. Very good IMO, but objectively not “great.”
V5: 6/10. Once again, I did not make the reverend proud. I had, IMO, good within the rules LDs with certain boundaries tested, but not the hands-on-ness I expect.
