More Changes at the Palace

I returned to the Palace in the Pines on a late Saturday night, a little after midnight. The parking lot was crowded and customers were still coming in. As I walked in, nobody was at the front collecting the cover charge. A guy sitting on the last seat at the bar told me there was a $10 cover charge. I handed him a $50 bill and he said “you’re good.” What?? I told him I needed my change and he called a bartender over who took care of it.

As I walked in the configuration of the club has changed again. The see-through curtain that was previously up around couches to the right was no longer there. They put up a sort of tent covering to the right of the stage, between the stage and “King’s Court.” The back and right were against walls, and the left had opaque curtains, so that three sides provided privacy. However, the front was a see-through curtain and the entry was open, so you could see right into there from the right side of the bar. There were three couches around the three sides.

I sat at the bar and had a $5 coke, which was higher than last time at the club. There were 8 dancers and I was ignored as they seemed to be sitting with regulars when not on stage or in the King’s Court. I saw at least a couple of dancers go into the King’s Court with a customer, although they had to wait as only one at a time goes in. I just sat there and watched the stage show.
