Back to Le Grillon
I had not been to Le Grillon in many years. It was closed for a bit, but it's been back now for awhile. Still the same as before. It's a small club, with a modest, unassuming entrance on a mostly deserted street at night. Best to catch a ride here don't walk. You pay a 3000 colones entry which includes a drink. The waiters are attentive and will do their best to serve you and help you choose a companion that fits your needs.
On this particular night I could not say Le Grillon was back to its best days. It was slow with about 5-10 dancers and 2-3 customers. The dancers were mostly in the 7 - 7.5 range. There is seating for about 30 people and a small stage in the far corner with continuous stage dancing. It's real dancing not the lame swaying you sometimes see in US clubs. I settled in next to the stage with a drink and was soon joined by a pretty dancer who had given me a nice smile as I walked in. While I usually like to take my time before choosing a companion, I had already scanned the talent by this time and was fine to welcome this lady to join me. She was about 30, good looking a bit thick, nice boobs, and nice personality. We hung out for about 40 minutes, had drinks, chatted and flirted, watched the stage a bit. No rush. Their goal though is to seduce you to go to a room upstairs. Since that was kind of my plan anyways, if I met someone I liked, we made a deal and headed upstairs. 30 minutes for a room is 30000 colones. The room is a bit cramped but reasonable, with a double bed and separate toilet and shower. After a shower we had fun and I tipped her 20000 for bbbj, which in hindsight was probably a bit generous. She sucked me off and I was a happy camper.
Total expenses for the night were 3000 entry, 30000 + 20000 for the chica, 3 drinks for her at 9000 each, a generous 8000 tip for the waiter, and a 2000 tip for the door guy who got me a taxi late at night. Total 90000 which is about 180 US. This club is a step down from Alcazar, but worth a visit if you want to check out the San Jose strip clubs at night and hunt for gems.
