Costa Rica is worth a mongering trip

Sportsman is an institution in Costa Rica and operates similarly to Hong Kong in TJ with a bit less of everything. The bar layout is a rambling somewhat spread out roughly the size of HK main floor. There is a pretty large hotel attached also where many customers stay. Talent generally pretty good (think 6 to an occasional 9) and is hanging around in groups or at the bar waiting to make a connection. Some will approach you if you are sitting at a table and lady drinks are the same price as your drinks.

The general procedure is that you grab a well priced drink and watch sports on the many TVs around the bar. Either you select a lady or she selects you and you strike up a conversation, maybe have a drink or two, negotiate what will happen and then retire to your on premises room. If you aren't staying at Sportsman the girls will have options available, either a nearby motel by the hour or they might have their own room. I was staying a somewhat nicer hotel a mile away or so. I paid 50,000 colon for a BBJ with an additional roughly $5 for the short term room. BJ price would have been much less if I accepted the covered option first offered. It was 3 blocks to the hotel but we took a taxi anyways since they cost one or two dollars.
