Just dug up this review that I apparently forgot to post. Let's call it Fall 2008. A fresher one to follow from January 2009, but thought it had enough tidbits that were different to go ahead and post: Haven't been to this place in a while. Used to spend a lot of time here before I decided to spend time everywhere but to mix things up.

A friend of mine likes the club a lot (it's been one of the tops in the area for years). Since I was in town and needing to kick back for a bit I said what the heck when he called me to swing through. So what? So basically I wound up here when I would have rather have been somewhere else, sitting in a part of the club I don't like, and getting bumped into by what looked like a hijacker trainee crew more than I cared to. Plus I'm guessing it's been a slow week since I had no peace, and even though it's BYOB and cheaper I'm starting to prefer the oddball chit chat at Excape more than here. That doesn't make Excape a better club, because it isn't. I just prefer it to this place for now because it has better talent and I don't care as much about dances anymore. The one dancer I'd have actually been interested in at The Wheel, Tiffany, apparently kicked another dancer's ass not too long ago and was put out on the street. The third stage was actually open for a bit. McKenzie and Tisha put on a girl-girl show. It was tipworthy, and you won't catch something like that on basic or premium cable.

They now have a few more couch booths for laps. One of them is facing the main part of the club. Needless to say it didn't get used. The back is still pitch black in the booths, which is good for all the reasons you all can think of depending on who and when. YMMV. One girl I actually had to see on stage so I could use my imagination in the back it's so dark now. Funny thing. I still read the reviews for the place pretty regularly, and one thing that has kept me scratching my head a bit was the raving for "Celes". Like I said, I've been in and out of this place for years and have no idea who that dancer is. One thing about this spot more so than most of the other clubs I've been around is girls are very aware of who's a regular for which girl, so there've been a few over time that will always linger long enough to make eye contact and smile but won't actually approach. Point being I end up with someone who I've seen around but never spoken to, and all of sudden this person is in my lap talking about everything under the sun. Celes. Nice girl with personality. I can see why sctripper raves about her. Since I don't really come around much the bouncers have changed and the dancers kind of recognize me but not really. That's a good thing.
