Alright, so the whole hostess club...

Alright, so the whole hostess club concept is a little foreign to me. I've seen them reviewed in several towns I've run through in the past, but the only two towns where I really considered checking one out were LA and Houston. Accidentally ran into a couple of them in NC and quickly made my escape. Rangerfan's reaction in his review is along the lines of what I thought when I got there. I actually saw the club while driving up and parked in the flat rate lot alongside it. You do not want to be wandering around looking for a street space in this neighborhood if you're not local. I walked right by the door since it's unmarked. The other places beside it were dark, so I turned around and looked up. The sign was on the last building in the row so I walked back. There was a latino security guard talking with another guy and we just kind of looked at each other confused for a few seconds. Then I pointed up at the sign and he pointed downstairs through the open door. Problem solved.

Most places I drop by it's easy enough to go through the motions like I've been there before, but this place is about as different from a traditional club as it gets. The asian guy was at the counter by the entrance like the other review said, and he was actually a pretty funny guy. If anyone else had been half as interesting I'd have stayed a while. So I walk into the place after spending about $7 and walked up to the bar to see what was on tap. No alcohol so that was that. There was another asian guy up at the bar who I'm assuming was a customer as he stared across the room at a collection of the most bored looking women I've ever seen in one place. They weren't even talking to each other they were so bored, except for a row of five over in the corner. Did the quick scan and saw some others in the back with guys. None were on the dance floor and the rest were sitting in what looked like little restaurant booths but with seats on only one side. Kind of looked like a drive in with couches instead of cars. Except for instead of a movie they were staring back out at the lobby.

Out of the ones by themselves there were a few that looked like they wanted anybody in the world to talk to them and the rest were texting like crazy. The girls ran the spectrum from plain to a couple of hot ones along with those exactly what some guys would go there looking for. I felt a little silly just standing there so I walked over to the group of five to see if any of them were up for a chat. The loud-mouthed one in the middle rolled her eyes and spouted off when I said I hadn't been there before. She pointed to the asian guy and said he'd explain how the place worked (he already had). Plus, at this point I'm just trying to figure which if any of them I'd be willing to spend money on. Scratch the loud one. There was a Russian-looking blonde in the group that had caught my eye, but wasn't really in the mood for something hands on so I passed. Then quickly weighed my options, settling on the one not making eye contact and sporting the frown. Long curly hair and wearing an evening dress. It didn't hurt that she was around an 8 or so and kinda looked like a thinner Salma Hayek.
