Despite some recent growing pains, Our Dolls manages to maintain its certain gritty charm that keeps it on my radar screen anytime I find myself in the region of Northwest Indiana known as "the Region". It used to be a complete dive bar, typically with one very hot girl on duty and a supporting cast of women you would never consider paying to take their clothes off. However, it recently remodeled and upgraded. The stage is now bigger, and seems as if it can accommodate two dancers on busy shifts, and the private booths for dances are more private than before, tucked away in the corner of the room instead of behind the stage as before.

The atmosphere is pretty much the same as before -- no frills, no drama, decent drink service and customers who keep to themselves. As an Illinoisan, even though I'm a smoker (and sometimes go to Indiana specifically to enjoy a cigarette while watching the show), the room seemed a little smokey to me, but in actuality it's no more so than any other bar in a state that allows indoor smoking. For a brief while they experimented with no alcohol and complete nudity, but they are back to a full bar with dancers whose panties stay on.

Those dancers are pretty relaxed; if you know how to be a nice guy they will attend to you but they won't pressure you. The dances, fortunately, are just as grind-heavy as before, with contact rules the same as you'd find at the nearby Industrial Strip. While IS's dancers are way hotter than what you'll find here, for about the same price, Our Dolls now has more passably sexy dancers than before the remodel, and they do aim to please. Plus, panties for booze is a trade I'm willing to make (as you might have guessed from my screen name, I'm more of a tit man anyway).
