I stopped by 2001 Odyssey on a Friday evening (back in March; soory it took so long to submit the review) from about 10PM until 1AM. In strong contrast with its neighbor right across the street, Mons Venus, the atmosphere at 2001 was just awful: the girls all seemed angry or depressed. Almost none of the dancers put in any effort on stage. Most simply grabbed tip dollars without even a thank you or a little dance in front of the tipper (the universal custom at strip clubs around the world). There was massive pressure to buy dances, which were only mediocre (the one-foot-on-the-floor rule prevented any good contact). Also, when one girl (Jersey) seemed slightly friendly, I thought I'd try to salvage the evening and buy a dance from her. But she then spent the entire time trying to up-sell me to the VIP room! When I politely asked her to advertise on her time, not mine, and that I wasn’t interested, she claimed that other guys found the up-sell exciting and continued to do so until the end of the dances. I suppose that was consistent with the space theme of the place: Jersey was definitely from another planet. The only exception to the general nastiness that prevailed at 2001 was Alicia (Elycia?), who arrived late and did a really nice dance on stage, and a nice private dance for me, too. She seemed to genuinely enjoy her work. But it wasn't enough to save the evening. I can’t think of anything good to say about 2001: the stage show was bad; the private dances were mediocre; and, the personalities of the girls really bad. Oh, and the girls didn’t compare with the Mons Venus girls in beauty. In short, only a masochist or psychotic would go to 2001 when a world-class place like Mons Venus is right across the street. Also, the private dances were much much better at Scarlett’s, where there's no one-foot-on-the-floor rule.
