Pantera Rosa is located south of...

Pantera Rosa is located south of the "Gringo Gulch" tourist area in San Jose. Expect to pay less than $5 for cab fare from most downtown hotels. Walking there at night is NOT advised. The cab ride may be unsettling as is.

Doors open at 10pm, but the place is usually slow til midnight or so. There is a cover, but I had a pass to get in, so I do not know the amount. You walk down a long hall, into a reasonably large room, with a stage toward the back, and a full bar in the back left. Stage dances end up nude, though the dancers spend most of there getting there, and relatively little time in their birthday suits. Couches dot the walls and some open areas.

They may take dollars, but it's best to pay with the local currency (colones). I'll use approximate US currency for this review.
