Had a better, but not great...
Had a better, but not great visit the second time around. For whatever reason I couldn't remember which club was which between Chez Joey, Diamond Lounge, and this place so I took another look at all three plus Oasis. This time I got a much more subdued greeting from the bartender, and was once again the only customer in the place. Was once again on the water diet by the time I got here, and asked for a bottle. Surprise of surprises I got a glass of water from the gun at no charge. Really. Still left a tip, but for that alone this place gets a better review than before.
I sat down for a minute and took in some of the stage show. The gap between the stage and bar is a little further than most of the clubs around, so I wasn't sure if my tips were going to land right. Was told to ball them up and throw. A lot of dancers I've talked to hate it when guys throw dollars that way so I usually don't, but when in Rome...hardwood floor surface on stage for a pretty interesting look. I don't think I've ever seen a stage surfaced quite that way before. As I said in my first review the overall place is a little shabby, but the girls looked pretty good on the whole. Not quite as good as the upstairs club, but better than average for The Block.
After getting to drink my water in relative peace, I was thinking about whether to talk to the brunette or the blonde to my left and down a stool or two. Had been waiting for the bartender to walk off so I wasn't interrupting, then before I could say anything another dance walks over and sits between me and the others. Name was Barbie, I think. Not bad, but not what I was in the mood for at the time...you can guess what happened next. Two times in the place and it not a dance to show for it. Maybe next time if there is one. Looks like the booths are against the left wall near the bathrooms so there isn't a lot of privacy there.
