Twin Peeks wasn't so great. Baby Dolls was 40 minutes or so (driving time plus 2 minutes in the club) I'll never get back. Why risk the trifecta of terrible clubs on the same stretch of road? The other L&L was a blast so it was worth at least sticking my head in for a minute. As it turns out this place was pretty cool. Was met at the door by Eva, who was little more mature than your average hostess but was friendly and gave the run down of not only this club but the other two and explained the membership benefits all in under 1 minute. So far so good. I open the door to the interior club and take a quick look around. I see a room with actual customers in it drinking and having a good time, several dancers, and a guy getting what looked to be a pretty good lapdance in the back corner. Much better.

Every club can't be a winner, but after the last two I was starting to wonder if L&L Southend was the only decent club in the MAL lineup. Lookswise I would say this club is a notch below its sister club on South Blvd, but it's not a bad looking club. If you're bashful with the laps you're not going to like this place because everything is out in the open. At least at Southend you got a little bit of privacy with a half wall around the $25 couch dance area. Here you don't even get that. Tables were scattered around a central runway bar that extend from the back wall halfway down the club. There are little nooks along the side of it to tip with places to set your drinks. The DJ booth is up and to the right of the stage, and the couch dance area is to the back left in a corner.

So I pull up to the bar and ask what's on tap. Not sure anything was, but they did have a nice drink special. 5 for $10 beers that come in a little ice bucket. Not full size beers, no, but the bottles were a decent size and you're getting a good deal. Since I was A) driving around town B) in a hurry and C) needing to get on a plane in the not too distant future I opted to share 3 and drink 2. The guys around the bar were cool and more than willing to help the cause. Offered a beer to a cute blonde in a black gown, which she quickly declined but countered with a dance instead. Meet Angela. Didn't get a good look at her, but I liked her style so I threw back one of the mini beers and took her up on the offer. We walk out to one of the tables, and I decide I'd rather have a little more privacy so we go to the far side of the stage where I only have to contend with one patron staring intently at what's going on in my lap.
