Wandered in on a recent Sunday...
Wandered in on a recent Sunday for some reason I can't really remember. This might've been after running through Sparrows Point looking for clubs that no longer exist since I wound up with extra time on my hands. Looks like they have added even more booths in the back since last time I was here. If you are facing the back wall of the club in the dance area, there are now two more booths off to the side. One backs to the dressing room and directly across against the right wall is the VIP booth (rear right corner of the club). It's basically a three-sided surround with a curtain at the front.
The dancer I talked to about it (right after she smashed up something I'd rather have kept intact) said management quoted $200 for 15 minutes and $300 for 30. Sexy as she was, she was little off her game which made it easier to say no thanks. Considering this is one of my favorite clubs in the country I'm not going to trash the place, but that's a little steep for something I've never seen or heard of being used. Might be willing to give it a shot for 150/200, which is line with similar clubs around the horn and matches up with the Gold Room rate down the street at GGC (only w/o the $50 bar tab). The booth layout and size reminds me of the spaceship booths at 2001 Odyssey, and those are also 150/200. Management here tends to be more approachable than most so the curious may want to try and negotiate the rate.
The regular dances are good as ever, but it's a little dark back there now with the extra side walls. Without typing out something silly like "there should be more light", which I would never suggest for any club worth its salt in the LD department, it would help to have a little more ambient light somehow (maybe a well placed blacklight). Chubbies club downtown has the same issue with their booths. When getting a dance from a great looking woman it'd be nice to be able to see her face when she's nose to nose with you and backlit. The booth backing to the dressing room might actually have a bit more light in it, but it's also the one all the other ones can look into. Considering all the dances back there used to be open (which didn't stop anyone) that's a minor point.
