I stopped in at the Doll...
I stopped in at the Doll House of Columbus at 10 p.m. on Saturday April 26, 2008. There were about fifteen customers (a good percentage of whom were under twenty-one as evidenced by the T-shirts they had to wear) and ten dancers (ranging from 5 to 8). Just after 11 p.m. there were more than thirty customers along with the same ten girls. I paid the cover charge ($10), went in and ordered a bottled water ($4).
The club is rather small but nicely laid out. I sat at a table away from the stage and waited to be approached. Other than a quick "Wanna dance?" during uptime, no one came up to me for almost a half hour. A lot of the dancers were more interested in hanging out with friends who came in or, in the case of one, the door girl who was her sister. When I did get to talk to a few girls, I found out that none of them had been there very long--one had been there two days, one six days and another three weeks.
They have both an uptime and a two-for-one each hour. One is at the top of the hour and the other is at the bottom of the hour. During one of them, they call the girls up to the stage, introduce them and have them walk through the club looking for dances. I had two dances for $40 in one of their "champagne rooms" (a couch enclosed by walls) and four in one of their new, semi-private VIP booths (you can also get dances for the same price on a couch in an open area). I had all of my dances with the same girl. They were decent, low-milage dances.
