MJX207: The beach/pool are better options
Context:
I was back in KW for work. It is baking hot here in the summer. I had the opportunity for a Saturday night visit to RG, but it was disappointing. I arrive right around 9p, which is probably too early for Duval.

Location:
RG is right on Duval St, next to Rick’s and basically across the street from Irish Kevin’s. It is towards the Northern end of Duval.

Parking / Valet:
There is no valet and parking in old town is tough. It is slight more than a block to the Opal Key garage, but they charge $7/hr. (Expensive but convenient.)

The Club:
IMO this is a bar with strippers. I was not charged a cover at 9p on a Saturday. The first room is a long skinny room with a bar along the left and a stage along the right. There is a second small room past the wall of cigars. A few patrons at the bar and basically no one at the stage. There was one guy making in rain on a fatty dancer when I walked in but he didn’t stick around. I was then the only shmuck at the stage getting vultured for tips. Smoking is allowed, you can smell the 2nd hand smoke, but I didn’t feel too contaminated when I left.

Dancers:
Overall, the talent was somewhat better than midweek, but it was not exactly impressive. I think I saw 6 dancers in the room, with more rolling in for the late shift. It seemed to be oscillating between one fatty and one hot but older dancer. All lighter skin as far as I recall.

Stage Show:
The dancers were going full nude on stage consistently (which was better than the halfhearted effort I saw in January). However, it was not nearly the laid back experience as in January. It was just tip, tip, tip. It was basically a 2.5 song rotation: topless, then nude, then a sort of clean up / semi-break as the current dancer limped off stage before the new dancer started. There was at least a little stage interaction but nothing like my pre-covid memories.

Mingling:
Mingling is allowed, but not much effort was observed. Not much more than the “wanna dance.”

Dances:
$40-50 quotes but maybe room to negotiate. ? It is a tourist town where you are being hustled for the most money at least mileage. AFAIK, there was no evidence of actual mileage. Probably OT, but it is hard to see how dancers survive in these circumstances.

Value:
Slim to none, and Slim wasn’t very enticed to stick around.

Overall:
Based on what I read/see about the KW options, this is a good as it gets, but it’s pretty poor IMO. I saw better at the beach and pool.

Museum Rating:
Sad, 3/10. The one dance was exactly my type (slender / athletic build), but really nothing too interesting to see here.

Amusement Rating:
Lame, 2/10. Maybe it get better much later at night, but very little fun at the stage and no evidence of fun elsewhere either.
