Stopped by on Saturday last weekend. Archibald's expands on the weekend to include the pool hall next door & upstairs, and I was routed there for the first time... on previous visits, I've always been in the downstairs club.

And... meh. I think that DC's peculiar laws with respect to these clubs contributes to a general atmosphere of indifference, but being in a converted bar/restaurant area didn't help. It was kind of like watching a Bada Bing scene from the Sopranos where the dancers were more in the background than anything, no matter what you did.

Despite the strange vibe, the quality/friendliness (no, not THAT kind of friendliness) of the dancers has picked up appreciably since the last visit. If I had this experience downstairs, I'd raise my rating a point or two, but the setup upstairs is just too awkward, I think.
