A fine time at a hit-or-miss club

It was early evening on a Saturday when I arrived at Sugars. I've been to this place a few times before and it's incredibly hit-or-miss. They post no list of dancers for the night on their website, like some clubs do, and even if you call to ask, or inquire whether a certain dancer is there, you get the same response. "We never know who's here until they show up. Why don't you just come in and check."

That's always the dilemma. The club is way in the boonies for me, near the small town of Hager, Wisconsin. I'm from the southern suburbs of Minneapolis, so it's more than an hour's drive for me to just "come in and check." However, when it's good, it's real good. I've more than once made the drive, gotten a drink, checked out the dancers, and walked right back out to my car and left. My hit ratio of good to bad is maybe 55%.

I have never had to pay any entrance fee. The door where you come in is right at the end of the bar. I usually stick to Mike's Hard Lemonades and they're typically $8. I never get mixed drinks so I don't know their prices, I expect they're high. For beer it's $4 or $5 a can (they have nothing on tap). I know when I buy a drink for my dancer, they often manage to order stuff that costs me $11 or so.
