Weird Night at Cloakroom
I was visiting DC and Cloakroom came up as a a recommended option for a fun club to visit. I decided to go give it a shot and see what is it about. Found the place, but passed it a couple times on the first instance as the entrance is just a doorway on the street, with no clear indication other than a guy sitting at a podium out front. Go though the door and you’re instructed to go down the hall and take the elevator to the 2nd floor, and I had to be honest it seemed like there wasn’t much going on and sounded dead really.
Took the elevator up and as the door opened, the vibe transformed completley. Full proper club set up, and people everywhere. It honestly baffled me how much of this is just hidden behind that quaint entrance. $20 cover to go in, and you have your choice of sitting at the bar, some floor tables, or some high tables to the side of the room. The club is reasonably sized, with a second floor where VIP and dance rooms are. Spacious stage with an extremely high ceiling and takes up the space for the two floors. I should mention that the second floor/ high ceiling is only exposed around the stage area, while the rest of the main room is low ceiling, so it really adds to the grandeur of the stage. Overall, really cool set up and vibe while not being too much at the same time.
Found a table and waitress pops over soon enough asking what would I like, opted for a beer, although full bar is available and food as well but didn’t try. Reasonable prices ranging from $9-11 for a beer. Began enjoying my beer and taking in more of my surroundings. I counted about 20 or so ladies working the floor, which was decent, all relatively attractive (think high 7s) and a few gorgeous girls as well.
