Daytime Recon
Was in the Philly area so stopped for a first ever afternoon visit. I’ve been here before but mainly on the weekend evenings where it’s a party type vibe. Obviously knowing the afternoon is much slower and having read afternoon reviews here, I knew it would be relaxed. But there’s mixed reviews here about afternoon mileage and privacy. Here to report the privacy seems great, but mileage was non existent.
Arrived around 3:00 on a Thursday. Drink prices are good - mid tier mixed drink was $9.25… what’s with the quarters? I’d almost rather pay $10 than get stupid quarters back. Maybe if people start throwing them onto the stage they’ll get the message.
It’s been described, but typical Philly-area set up with the stage in the middle of the bar. Two poles and two platforms. The dancers have to do acrobatics to get from one to the other. They start on the first pole on the end by the DJ booth, end by side that’s the entrance of the main room. If you want to be able to catch a dancer first, the come off the stage and typically go to the left along the back wall headed towards the DJ booth first. Start clothed on first platform. Some take their tops off by the end of the first song, some wait until the second platform. Tip walk after. If you sit farther from where they start, sometimes they get scooped up or just tip walk as far as their regular is and then quit. If you’re frugal, sitting opposite where they start their walk could save you a few bucks.
