I went to The Pony at 23:15 on a Friday night. The club is a pink metal building surrounded by factories on the west side of Galesburg. There was no cover charge to get in. A Sincweiser was $4. There is a pool table directly in front of you as you enter and a dartboard to the left. Further down the left wall is a bar with twelve stools. The stage is along the right wall. It is about a foot off of the ground and has two pole positions and a pull up bar hanging from the ceiling. The stage is surrounded by a tipping table about two feet wide. The dressing room and washrooms are on the back wall. The private dance area and VIP rooms are located in the front wall to the immediate right of the front door. Thick black curtains provide privacy from the rest of the room. There is a large smoking patio accessed through a door near the dartboard.

There was only one dancer working. Her name was Chyna. She was mixed or light black with a platinum blonde weave. She had a big ass and saggy C cups. She was a smoker and graded out at a 4.5. There is no contact permitted at the stage, so when you tip, you just toss the dollars on the dancer’s ass or leave them on the tipping table. For a Friday night, this club was dead in terms of dancers and customers. The only other customers were a group of young African-American men yelling over the hip hop music.

Private dances are $30 per song. The dancer keeps $25 of the $30, and the club takes $5. VIP rooms are fifteen minutes for $150 ($30 goes to the club), thirty minutes for $250 ($60 goes to the club), and sixty minutes for $475 ($75 goes to the club). The ATM has a maximum withdrawal of $300 and charges a $6 fee.
