Good for some, but not my scene to be honest.

Located south of South End near the train tracks, it's a bit out the way. Onyx is the kind of place that feels more like a traditional night club than a strip club, and is more for the after hours crowd who needs a place to go after other bars close. That's not my scene anymore, so I showed up around 9:30 on a Friday. I went through a metal detector and quick pat down, and did not pay a cover charge as it was before 10.

As soon as you walk in, there's a small bar that sells food and drinks, and the main area is huge, with 2 bigger bars, 3 stages, and some VIP sections. I was approached by a waitress, offering food, drinks, and hookah. I just had a water. For the size of the club, more people were near the front than the back. Seemed like a good mix of couples and single men. Most, if not all the dancers were black or mixed. I went towards the bigger stage and waited if anyone would get on the pole. Eventually, a woman approached me, I think her name was Blu. We chatted for a bit before she asked if I wanted a dance. I always wait for the dancers to ask, and I said yes. She told me they charge $20 per song on the floor, or $40 per song in VIP. I agreed to 5 songs for $100 in a corner table. There was full contact and my hands were everywhere except between the legs. Her boobs looked and felt fake, but I didn't ask. She also smelled of cocoa butter, which is a plus.

Once that was done, I sat by one of the smaller stages that had a spinning cube thing instead of a pole, and tipped the dancer a few singles before being approached by another dancer. She was friendly enough, and agreed to 2 songs in the VIP section, which allowed for more privacy. These sections are elevated, and more comfortable than the tables. She was more talkative and had me laughing as she danced. After that dance, I was spent, both mentally and financially. I prefer to bring as much cash as possible, so I don't get tempted to throw everything on a credit card.
