I went to 327 Club at 01:00 on a Saturday night. There was a $25 cover charge at the door, but the door girl said if I tipped her, she would waive the cover charge. I had been to this building many times in the past when it operated as Temptations. The inside has been remodeled. There is a single island stage in the middle of the room. It is square shaped and has a brass pole in the middle. The bar is now along the front wall, facing away from Bourbon Street. Large chandeliers provide the limited lighting. The roller chairs are leather, and there are Chesterfield couches along the right wall. A staircase on the left leads up to the second floor. There is a second bar up on the second floor along with the private dance booths. I would describe the overall feel of 327 Club as that of a gothic speakeasy. A twelve ounce bottle of Sincweiser was a ridiculous $15. This was the most I have ever paid for a bottle of beer in my entire life. I decided to buy just one and nurse it, justifying my decision with the fact that I didn’t pay a cover charge to get in and was now paying the cover on the drink.

There were a dozen dancers working here. The line-up was overall average. The ceiling was an 8.5, and the floor was a 4.5. About four of the dancers I interacted with were Russian. The Russian dancers would not accept “no” for an answer and were extremely pushy. There were also a few black dancers and some bangable American white dancers. Entertainers did two song sets on stage, stripping down to topless. Stage contact was either boobs to the face or nothing at all. I saw very few customers spending money outside of occasional stage tips.

I was quoted a ridiculous $80 per song for private dances. One dancer even tried to get $100. I am not sure what the minimum price is, but it seems dancers can throw out any number they want. I think the modus operandi here is to find either incels or extremely drunk guys who stumble in from Bourbon Street. I laughed out loud at the dancers when they were seriously thinking they could get me to pay $80 or $100 for a three minute lap dance. There are supposedly private rooms on the third floor that cost $4,000 for an hour. With the short leash Louisiana has on New Orleans strip clubs, extras are not going to happen. (Reminiscing, I really miss the old days when $300 got you a suck-and-fuck at Temptations in one of the servant quarters located along the left side of the courtyard.) The ATM has a maximum withdrawal of $800 and charges a $40 fee. The charge says ‘Corruption’ instead of mentioning the strip club.
