One Gem at Ricks on a Fri Night
Stopped by Rick’s on a busy Friday night a little before midnight. I had a free entry card from last time so cover wasn’t an issue, though they do mention a drink minimum when you walk in. The club itself is pretty spacious. Main stage in the middle, bar close by, stage seating off to one side, and more lounge-style tables scattered around the rest of the floor. Service kind of depends on timing, someone usually greets you, but after that you might need to flag people down if it gets packed.
The selection of dancers was solid and constantly rotating. It felt like there were new girls coming out every set. Mostly white, but a good mix of Latinas and Black dancers, plus a few others. Stage shows were entertaining enough, but I didn’t stay glued to them. I’m more into 1 on 1 dances, and most girls were upfront about pricing. $20 was common, though some asked for $25 or more depending on the dancer and how busy the night was. A few had stricter boundaries at the lower price, which they were clear about. Overall, the dancers were friendly and made an effort to talk, joke around, and actually engage instead of just rushing through it.
The overall vibe is what you’d expect from a well known NYC strip club. Dark lighting, comfortable seating, and a slightly upscale feel without being pretentious. The VIP area upstairs looked nice but definitely leaned toward the high end side price wise. The dancers were complaining that certain race people are more open to buying VIP than others.
