5/10 or 10/10 depending on the day

As someone who is usually limited to the daytime scene, I have found that most clubs are hit and miss as to how good it is early in the day. AJ's is no different. Some days, I come and have a great time for several hours, other days, I find myself bored and leaving after 15 minutes. I can't really put my finger on why that is, but I am sure it has to do with the dancers and how much fun they are having in the morning. With that being said, AJ's is one of my favorites on Monday's and Fridays, and so-so the rest of the days I have been there. Of course, your experience might be completely different!

As for the set up from left to right when you enter: 5-6 private dance areas with comfortable couches...some have mirrors which is a big plus, then a seating area that is crowded but dark, and then one big stage that you have to walk around to get to the bar.

Like everywhere else in Portland, dances have gotten out of hand. Most girls push for 3 for $120. In my experience the dances have never been that crazy, but usually the girls allow your hands to roam just fine.

Overall, I almost never skip a stop at AJ's, but some days are better than others!
