Nana Plaza and Lady Boy Agogo Experience

Went on a Friday night, but to be honest, most every night is a party night here packed with tourists in this mall of agogos. Started off at Red Dragon as I think they have some of the prettiest girls, but also some of the priciest. Free entry, but they require a minimum of 2 (~250 baht/ea) lady drinks for a girl to sit with you. Only talked with one girl, but I overheard guy behind me barfine a girl for 9k baht, guessing that included the girls fee as well.

Got drinks (~150 baht/ea) and lady drinks (~200-250 baht/ea) at a few agogos after, most had a mix of topless girls and just bikini girls. All were free entry and welcoming. I would say the ratio of 8s and up was about 10-15%.

I decided to try a lady boy bar/agogo, forgot name, but was on the corner across the entry from Red Dragon on the 2nd floor. Most of the girls/boys gave off an uncanny valley look with heavy makeup, but a few looked like genuine ladies. The mamasan gave this price list that showed my standard priced drink, a standard lady drink, then 1500 baht at the bottom and said that was for the barfine that can be waived if I decided to short time a girl in a room upstairs. I decided to buy a girl/boy a drink and after finishing and not wanting to barfine, the mamasan tried to charge the 1500 baht fee saying it was the fee for the girl to just sit with me. I straight up said I wasn't gonna pay that, and she was yelling and tried to bring another mamasan for backup, but I stood my ground saying I've been around and I know that's not how things work. Eventually they just yelled/demanded at me to pay the drink fees and to leave and so I did. I don't know if others fall for that or if that's how lady boy bars work, but it gave me a sour taste for them and probably won't be going back anytime soon.
