I went to the Peppermint Hippo 2 at 23:45 on a Saturday night. The outside of the building is painted to look like the Peppermint Hippo strip club featured in two episodes of South Park. There was a $10 cover charge to get in. The bouncer at the door told me I should get a champagne booth. He was quite pushy about this, despite me telling him I am alone, and I don’t drink champagne. About half the interior is occupied by the aforementioned VIP booth seating. As you can guess, the premium seating areas were mostly empty, and the middle part of the club left for the proletariat was overcrowded. The stage is on the far right wall. It has a spinning pole with red lights inside of it. The DJ booth is to the immediate right as you enter along the front wall. The bar is on the back wall and only seats about eight people. Sincweisers were $6. I bought a dancer a Grey Goose cocktail for $15. My waitress, Jade, was an Arkansas centerfold. I would drop back in on a slower night just to see her. The ATM has a $300 maximum withdrawal and charges a fifteen percent fee per transaction.

The dancers were mostly white and black. I counted sixteen entertainers. I was unimpressed with eighty percent of the talent. A few showed baby damage, while others needed to invest in a membership to Planet Fitness. However, there were two dancers who had me drooling. As the saying goes: It only takes one. Cruella was an athletic stunner with green eyes and half blonde/half black hair à la Cruella Deville. She had silicone C or D cups with tattoos on her left arm. I would rate her a 10, a sinclair prototype. Jeanie was the other standout. She was a slim blonde with B cups. I would rate her a 9, another sinclair prototype. Dancers got topless on stage, but they have to wear pasties over their areolas due to local laws. There was no contact at the stage. Tippers just threw their dollars onto the stage, expecting nothing in return.

I was told there were no by-the-song private dances, but I think this was a case of dancers trying to only sell VIP rooms. Only blocks of VIP time were offered to me. I think per-song lap dances could still be had for $25 if you pressed for them. Fifteen minutes of VIP time was $150. Thirty minutes of VIP time was $300. Sixty minutes of VIP time was $600. Some dancers will inflate the prices to include a tip. For example, they may tell you the fifteen minutes is $170 or the thirty minutes is $340. I believe the Peppermint Hippo takes one-third of the VIP room fee and gives the dancer the other two-thirds. The room where the lap dances or VIP’s take place could be best described as a community room with six small benches against the walls, separated by short dividers. A VIP host at a computer keeps track of the time. I intended to buy a thirty minute VIP going in, but when I got back there and saw how cramped and non-private the area was, I decided to only buy a fifteen minute VIP. I was able to touch all over, but the dancers have to keep her tops and bottoms on to keep in line with local ordinances. Some dancers would briefly pull down their tops for short clips during VIP sessions.
